Intentional homicide is defined as the unlawful death inflicted upon a person with the intent to cause death or serious injury; population refers to total resident population in a given country in a given year.

Number of victims of violent crime in the previous 12 months who reported their victimization to competent authorities or other officially recognized conflict resolution mechanisms, as a percentage of all victims of violence in the previous 12 months. Reporting rates to be computed separately for physical, sexual and psychological violence. For each of the indicators of violence (physical, psychological and sexual), countries should calculate the share of victims who reported their victimization. Those reporting rates are published separately.
