Methamphetamine supply in East and South-East Asia

Seizures of methamphetamine continued rising in South-East Asia while declining in East Asia.

  • The largest quantities of methamphetamine worldwide were seized in East and South-East Asia, accounting for 48 per cent of the world’s total in 2024.
  • Seizures of methamphetamine have been declining over the last decade in East Asia while rising significantly in South-East Asia.
  • The largest seizures in East and South-East Asia were reported from Thailand, followed by Myanmar, the Lao PDR, Malaysia and Cambodia in 2024, while the People’s Republic of China continued to report the largest seizures in East Asia.
